Bio:

For over 15 years she has worked closely with individuals experiencing psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder. ‘My clinical approach is holistic and team-based, blending medication, psychotherapy, family support, and social interventions.
Alongside my clinical work, I’m deeply committed to psychiatric education. I am Head of the Psychiatry Teaching Academy for Birmingham and Aston medical students, overseeing the training of over 500 students annually. I have chaired the core trainee MRCPsych course in Birmingham and served as a Senior Clinical Examiner at the University of Birmingham. I'm particularly passionate about developing innovative teaching methods to inspire and prepare the next generation of psychiatrists.
Beyond clinical and educational settings, I advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. As a trustee for the youth mental health charity Beyond, I’ve been involved in creative projects like the play Revolving Door, which explores the lived experience of mental illness and recovery. In 2024, I received the "Leading and Inspiring Award" from Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. I also contribute to JAAQ, a platform dedicated to making expert mental health information accessible.’
